The Ultra / Scan to thickness gauge Elcometer 456 with an additional wear-resistant replaceable cap allows both individual measurements and scanning large areas of the surface without damaging the sensor or coating.

Ultra NDT company presents Ultra/Scan scanning sensors
Scanning sensors are currently available with the following measurement ranges (not including cap thickness):
- Type F (magnetic metal) Scale 1 - up to 1500 microns
- FNF type (magnetic and non-magnetic metal) Scale 1 - up to 1500 microns
- Type F (magnetic metal) Scale 2 - up to 5 mm

Using the Ultra/Scan sensor with the new Elcometer 456 modes-Scanning mode and auto-Repeat mode (available in the Elcometer 456 coating thickness meters model T) - allows you to significantly reduce the time to measure the thickness of coatings on large areas without reducing accuracy.

Ultra/Scan sensors use the proprietary zero offset technology used in the Elcometer 456. This technology ensures that the degree of wear on the sensor cap during use* is taken into account during the calibration process. The device even tells the user when to replace the cap.
